Dr. Binay Kumar is the practice principal & aims to offer quality family doctor services to the community. Dr. Binay Kumar Binay qualified as a doctor in 1999. He had been working as a GP partner in UK. He was also a GP trainer and an appraiser.

Binay married in 2012 and his wife, Ridhima who had been living in Melbourne for a long time managed to get him to move back with her. They have 2 sons : Eashen & Krivi . Binay is trained to perform minor surgical procedures inc skin cancer surgery and joint injections.

Apart from general practice his professional interests include teaching, musculo-skeletal medicine and medical aesthetics. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) Royal College of General Practitioners (UK and Australia) & Australasian College of Aesthetic Medicine. Binay enjoys doing various cosmetic procedures inc use of anti wrinkle injections, Dermal Fillers, Chemical Peels, Silhouette Soft Thread lifts , Non surgical mole removal, sclerotherapy & fat dissolving injections, laser treatments etc . He likes to go trekking when at all possible and enjoys nice holidays. Binay consults at both Mount Evelyn & Lilydale sites



Dr. Mei Ling Leong MRCGP(UK), FRACGP

Dr. Mei Ling Leong trained in UK & has recently moved to Australia.

She has a keen interest in wellbeing, particularly wellbeing and Mental Health of Young People & adults. She has done Wellbeing sessions in the local schools back in the UK, and hopes to develop this in the local area. She also has experience in Palliative Care and Child Health. She practices medicine looking at the patient as a whole.

Personally, she enjoys the outdoors. She loves walking and nature and is looking forward to explore more of Yarra Valley & Melbourne in this way. She also looks after her Wellbeing through church, music and food. She loves playing the piano and singing, and baking!”

She is available for consultations in both Mount Evelyn & Lilydale Clinics. She looks forward to meeting new patients at the clinic


Dr Anthony Brown FRACGP

Dr. Anthony Brown is a specialist General Practitioner & uses a holistic approach to manage health issues .

In his own words : Originally from the USA then in QLD where I grew up, I completed my undergraduate medical studies at James Cook University, north QLD and my post-graduate training in General Practice around South East QLD. Since receiving my fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2011 I have a wide experience in all aspects of General Practice including stints in Tasmania, Remote Aboriginal Health and teaching at University of QLD.

I perform skin checks , minor surgical procedures and have an interest in dermatology (skin conditions) along with chronic health issues ( both physical & mental health )

I am passionate about holistic medicine especially around lifestyle and promoting healthier habits. I endeavour to look at the whole person. It is rewarding to work one to one and families as they make steps towards healthier habits and choices and improving their health through simple changes to their diet, exercise, stress and relationships. 

The doctor-patient relationship should be reciprocal, founded on mutual respect for each other. 


Dr Brown consults at Mount Evelyn on Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri & some weekends.



Dr Shilpa Chegu FRACGP MRCGP (UK)

Dr Shilpa Chegu is a specialist General Practitioner and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Australia & UK. She holds a certificate of Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and also family Planning and Sexual health.

Dr Shilpa made the move from UK to ‘down under’ in 2018 . She enjoys the full variety of general practice with a special interest in women and children’s health and preventative medicine. She believes in patient education and enjoys continuity of care.

She holds advanced Gynae qualifications and runs the Mirena & cervical smear service at our Mount Evelyn Clinic.

She also performs Cosmetic anti wrinkle injections at Mount Evelyn Clinic.

Outside of work she likes travelling, reading, music and theater. She is a trained Indian classical singer and has done a few performances in the past.

Dr Shilpa Chegu is available at Mount Evelyn on Mon,Tue,Thu,Fri & some weekends.


Dr Sadia Chowdhury MRCGP(UK) FRACGP

Dr Sadia has recently moved over from England .  She qualified as a doctor in 2004. Before moving to Australia, she worked for 10+ years in UK.

She is interested in all aspects of general practice and providing quality family care. She believes in treating patient as a person not the disease only.

Personally, she is a mother of two lovely daughters and loves spending time with family. She enjoys being outdoors and loves being close to nature. Listening to music and singing, reading books are her hobbies. She is able to speak in English and Bengali.


Dr Michael Bloom ( Chiropractor )
After graduating from RMIT in 1995 with an Award for Excellence in Chiropractic Science, Michael spent the majority of the next 10 years in the UK, working in many different practices gaining invaluable experience in a variety of adjustment techniques. He returned to Australia in 2015 and started Happy Chiropractic in Malvern. In 2012 he become a Certified Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner (CCWP). This certification greatly expanded his knowledge about what factors help to create wellbeing.
He focuses on health promotion and corrective spinal care to not only address any symptomatic concerns, but to help individuals experience a healthier and, therefore, happier life. He also provides chiropractic services to members of Mt Evelyn Footie Club.

Edward Mak ( Physiotherapist )

Edward is a graduate of the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) (Honours 1st class).
Edward is enthusiastic and interested in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. He is experienced in soft tissue massage, spinal mobilisation and exercise-based physiotherapy, providing high-quality care to facilitate your recovery and prevent future injuries.
Edward enjoys reading, basketball and classical music. Outside of work, he likes to taste all the good foods in Melbourne, spend time on outdoor activities and gym. Along with English he is well versed in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Some of the conditions that can respond to physiotherapy include sports injuries, back and neck pain, headaches, joint injuries, and vertigo and dizziness.
Patients with a Chronic care plan referral from one of our Clinic Doctors for Medicare, DVA, TAC or WorkCover will be eligible for Bulk Billed visits.
Private visits are charged at $90 for initial visit & $70 for follow up visits .

Practice Nurse


Elise Pelosi

Elise is a Division 1 general nurse who has undergone training in General Practice nursing after working in Hospital settings. She is an Accredited Nurse Immunizer. Prior to working in general practice she has worked in the public hospital system for many years.

She is passionate about educating patients and helping them manage chronic problems to gain best possible outcomes. She helps the doctors in all aspects of patient care including chronic disease management, pathology, spirometry, ECG, women’s health issues, immunization, wound management etc.

She is looks forward to meeting you and assisting you in your health care needs.

Elise is available Wednesdays & Fridays.

Sue Wilson is our new Practice Manager. She is extremely experienced with the day to day dealings that come with working in a busy Medical Clinic. Our other friendly reception staff include Jade, Taeghan, Alice & Tyla.
